Our History
Holtyn & Associates, LLC was formed as a business in 1987 by Ken and Julie Holtyn. Holtyn’s trademark One to One At The Worksite Wellness program was the result of many years of research done in collaboration with University of Michigan Worker Health Program scientists Jack Erfurt, Andrea Foote, PhD and Max Heirich, PhD. The program model was one of the first in the country to provide onsite assessments and face-to-face coaching. The program has been successfully implemented in over 500 worksites and has received national recognition for its ability to engage employees, improve health, reduce risks, create a culture of wellness and impact the worksite environment.

Ken Holtyn has provided wellness and health promotion services for over 30 years to more than 500 businesses. Ken was a member of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention Advisory Panel Best Practice Benchmarking Project for Worksite Health and Productivity management and Worksite Health Index Project. He was also Chair of the Business Group for the State of Michigan, “Michigan Steps Up” campaign. Recognized nationally and internationally as a leader in the field of work place health and wellness promotion, Ken testified in Washington D.C. before the U.S. Surgeon General and the Secretaries Council of Health and Human Services on the status of small business health promotion.
Ken has served as Vice-President of the Health Promotion and Wellness Council of Michigan and as the American Heart Association Chairman of Worksite Health Promotion for Michigan. The Michigan House of Representatives also recognized him for his contributions to the health of the citizens of Michigan by a House Resolution. In 2008 he was inducted into the National Wellness Institutes Service and Leadership Circle recognizing him for his contributions in the health and wellness promotion field.
Bruce Fetzer is co-founder of Holtyn and Associates, LLC, providing over thirty years of service to hundreds of organizations. Bruce has extensive experience leading, administering and advising large organizations, funding hundreds of millions of dollars in research. At Holtyn, he oversees the management, planning, finance, contracting, and technology of the company. He has extensive, immersive experience in the wellness field.
He was the past Chair of Kalamazoo County Wellness Coalition, convened multiple regional symposia on best practices, was an advisor to international best-practices Health Enhancement Research Organization (HERO). Bruce is committed to helping employees at our client companies improve and maintain positive lifestyle habits.
